抑或最先進的面貌;
Comparing to lots of cities in the world, Taipei
city isn't the most age-old one or the most
developed one. But it was endowed with a quaint
meaning due to its unique background.

National Taiwan Museum

It was a pity that the exhibition room of history on first floor was in restoration, so the main tour was only on second and third floor. I introduced to Jekki the elementary geography and cultural context through many models and cultural relics to let him know the land we live.

228 Memorial Museum

Then we came to the 228 Memorial Museum which was located at the other side of the 228 Peace Park. Because of some obstacles to language, it was difficult for me to explain many complicated issues. But according to the introduction of the museum and some historical photograph, though Jekki was not familiar with those Chinese characters, he still could understand the post-war history of Taiwan and some tragedies . We finally ended our tour below the cloudy sky and drizzle.

101 Taipei 101

If the historic spots around the BoAi rd. represent the old-looking of Taipei city, then the East Area is the classic type of its today. Arriving at the finacial center of Taiwan, it seems that both of us were walking faster. Jekki used to look the Taipei 101building far from NCCU, and today he finally came here and took pictures. I think that a country most likely to give the image of buildings, for example, the US with the Statue of Liberty or White House, France with Eifel Tower, China with the Great Wall, Egypt with Pyramid. Taipei 101 was used to be the tallest building in the world, and it also became the classic image of Taiwan.

Welcome to Taiwan, Jekki.

  1. Ralph was a wonderful navigator partner. He toured me to many places and I really learned a lot about Taiwan!
    Until next time.
